About JellyPanda

JellyPanda was formally founded in 2008, but the idea of a company where you could come and get fantastic wedding inspiration without paying lots of money for the privilege or being forced to have the same wedding as everyone else through lack of interesting products was in the making for many years prior.  

 

What makes JellyPanda different to other wedding sites?

JellyPanda is a place where people from all backgrounds and walks of life could meet and chat and share ideas and get inspiration that they could use in planning their wedding whatever style of ceremony they were after.  A place that would provide you with loads of ideas without bombarding with so much advertising you couldn’t see the wood for the trees!!!  At JellyPanda we want you to get involved, we want your stories, your ideas and hopefully in return we can give you some inspiration, cool products and links and maybe some free stuff if you are lucky.

 

My experience

The preparation for my wedding seemed like endless days and months spent trawling through magazines, web sites, shops and wedding fairs looking for things I thought would be cool and represent me and my fella without being the same stuff everyone else was getting.  But unless I wanted a colour theme or monogrammed everything I didn’t find much to inspire me.  I had recently been on a trip to Japan with hubbie-to-be and had seen so many cool things that had really inspired me and naively thought it would be really easy to find some great things in the UK.  Sadly I searched high and low, but couldn’t find anything that was just right and in the end went to great lengths in ordering and shipping over wedding favours from Japan and picking and mixing from little pockets across the UK market to result in a wedding that whilst being the best day of my life, was made up of so many elements brought together from so many different places that the process was made many times more complicated than it should have been.

 

Now, I am not some kind of crazy wedding Fascist who wants everything matching from the garter to the wedding invites and nor am I someone who agonises over every little detail being perfect at the expense of enjoying the day.  But I did think that in an industry as massive as the wedding industry, we didn’t have half the choice or creativeness or fun for that matter that the US or other countries seem to have captured.  

Since my wedding, and with the stress far behind me, I have been looking around I realise there are loads of cool things out there, but unless you have weeks to spend tracking down the ideal wedding favour then they are quite hard to locate and if you are time strapped, I think you are most likely to give up the hunt early on and opt for the same Tescos wedding favour boxes as many other weary brides.  That's why JellyPanda was born, we want to help you to get to the good stuff without ageing 20 years in the process by presenting everything cool that we have found for one theme in one place.
